I Pick It Out of a Hat… But It’s Not Random

I Pick It Out of a Hat… But It’s Not Random

I get asked this a lot…“How do you choose what to paint each month?”

And the honest answer? It’s not as planned out as people think.

Yes, I have a list. Marine life. Birds. Species at risk. Some more endangered than others.I keep track of them. I research them. I care about all of them.

But when it comes time to choose…I don’t overthink it. I write them down. Fold them up.
And I pick one. Out of a hat.

And I know that might sound crazy to some people… but it’s the quiet moment after I open it that matters most.

Because when I read the name… I feel it. Sometimes it’s a pause. Sometimes it’s a weight.
Sometimes it’s this undeniable pull I can’t explain.

That’s how I know. That’s the one. Not because I chose it…but because God did. I truly believe that. That each month, the species that comes forward is the one I’m meant to create, share, and bring attention to.

Some will be bold. Some will be overlooked. Some people will love them… some won’t.But every single one has a purpose. And every single one was created intentionally.

That’s what the Fin & Feather Print Club™ is built on. Not just art…but trust.

Trusting the process. Trusting the calling. And trusting that the right story will be told at the right time.

This month… was one of those moments. And I felt it the second I read the name.

And maybe that’s what this is really about. Not just choosing a species each month…
but being part of something that brings awareness to what God created. A quiet way to slow down, pay attention, and protect what’s been placed in our care.

If you’ve felt that pull too…then the Fin & Feather Print Club™ might be something you’re meant to be part of.

All Glory to God,

Jennifer, The ART Happy ARtist™
